ABSTRACT:
Many customers cannot tolerate the length of downtime (an offline database that is unavailable for application users and transactions) required for a totally static (off-line) database migration. This paper addresses the issue of the essential need to capture real-time transactional data on a production Solaris/HP-UX/AIX/Windows platform and subsequent replication to a new Dell Linux Servers where any interruption of service is required to be at zero. The knowledge gained from this paper will assist in formulating strategies and methodologies to achieve near-zero downtime dynamic database migrations to Oracle10g or Oracle11g. Read this white paper to learn more.
